Michael Parkot is a self proclaimed accidental agricultural entrepreneur. While pursuing a career in healthcare he noticed that despite the new advances in medicine, people are sicker than ever; he felt as though food has more of an impact than anyone is willing to admit. In starting his farm, he found a passion, drive and desire to produce ethical, nutrient dense, superb food products. After a surprise investment grant from Ignite Buffalo via 43 North, Always Something Farm and Mike are off and running, supplying top local restaurants, home consumers, and trying to build a local food system supporting other farmers. Now that the farm has grown from a passion project to business with employees he’s finding and addressing the pitfalls of a new business owner, learning on the fly, and truly discovering how accurate the phrase Always Something fits entrepreneurial life.
